DesignEverything are developing a material that utilises discarded hardwood timber and acrylic – when bonded together and finished ‘striple’ is a beautiful material that could be used in interior projects as a worktop, creative wall panel or even furniture.
We find ourselves working with acrylic quite a bit - and working with carpenters while creating bespoke furniture or timber frames highlighted a common issue... waste. And we don't like waste.
So the idea of bring the two materials together seemed like a smart one. We’re still in the R&D phase, but once a couple of manufacturing head-scratchers are ironed out, we'll be good to go!
